WORKING TITLE:Assistant Coach - Women's Volleyball

Essential Job Functions

This position reports to Head Volleyball Coach and is responsible for carrying out all duties as they relate to the administration of the sport and to always work in the best interest of the program, the Athletic Department, and the University.

What You'll Do

  • FaceTime calls with Potential Student-Athletes.
  • Monitor email inbox for communications from Potential Student-Athletes and their parents.
  • Contacting recruits including documenting/recording notes on all calls.
  • Evaluating video.
  • Oversees social media intern.
  • Creates monthly social media plan for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram including creatingcontent, video, and organizes professional photos.
  • Assists head coach in managing all student-athletes and providing consistent connection.
  • Focus is on team culture, mental health, social and emotional well-being.
  • Diversity and inclusion self-education.
  • Practice organization.
  • Education on volleyball fundamentals, system, and best practices in feedback and skill retention.
  • Oversees all camp management, camp cancellations and refunds, and planning future camps.
  • Assists in fundraising projects.
  • Track academic progress.
  • Equipment organization and purchases.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent at time of application
  • Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business software programs (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, database) and the Internet.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in a higher education environment

Conditions of Appointment

This position requires significant travel and a varying schedule that includes nights and weekends.

Position is a full-time Limited appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Compensation and Benefits

SALARY INFORMATION

Salary range of $38,000-$45,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


BENEFIT DETAILS

The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
